UX Engineer – Data Center Infrastructure Optimization

We are seeking an UX Engineer – Data Center Infrastructure Optimization to join our team in Ghent, Belgium

In this role, you will be joining a dedicated task force focused on identifying and delivering optimization use cases across our data center infrastructure. As the UX Engineer, you'll be responsible for designing and building the interfaces, dashboards, and visualization tools that make complex infrastructure data accessible and actionable. You'll translate raw operational metrics into intuitive experiences that help teams understand performance, identify optimization opportunities, and track the impact of improvements across both on-premise and cloud environments. 

What kind of work will you be doing? 

You'll design and implement frontend applications and dashboards that surface optimization insights, resource utilization patterns, cost metrics, and infrastructure health indicators. Working closely with backend engineers and data scientists, you'll build visualization layers for monitoring tools, create interfaces for managing workload scheduling and capacity planning, and develop user-facing controls for automation and optimization features. You'll conduct user research with platform teams and operations staff to understand their workflows, iterate on designs based on real usage patterns, and ensure the tools you build genuinely solve problems. You'll own the full frontend stack, from interaction design and component architecture to deployment and performance optimization, and you'll set standards for consistency, accessibility, and usability across the team's outputs. 

What will make you successful?  

You're equally comfortable in Figma and your code editor, and you move fluidly between design thinking and implementation. You have strong frontend development skills — modern JavaScript/TypeScript, React or similar frameworks, and a solid grasp of state management, component architecture, and performance patterns. You're passionate about data visualization and know how to make complex datasets understandable at a glance, whether that's through custom D3 charts, Grafana dashboards, or purpose-built monitoring interfaces. You're not intimidated by technical domains; you're curious about how infrastructure works and excited to learn enough about Kubernetes, cloud platforms, and data center operations to build tools that operators actually want to use. You thrive in fast-moving environments where you'll ship iteratively, gather feedback quickly, and refine based on real-world usage. You care deeply about user experience but you're pragmatic, you know when to polish and when to ship. Experience working with monitoring/observability tools, building internal tools or dashboards, or designing for technical audiences is a strong plus. 

Nice to Have 

Experience with data visualization libraries , , Plotly), familiarity with monitoring platforms (Grafana, Prometheus), knowledge of design systems and component libraries, understanding of infrastructure concepts (Kubernetes, cloud platforms, networking.
