Engineering Manager


Location: Ghent
Location Qualifications: hybrid, 2 days in the office
About The Position
We are looking for a skilled Engineering Manager to join our growing team in Ghent. In this critical leadership position, you will be responsible for managing our content systems, reporting directly to the Director of Engineering.
Key Responsibilities As An Engineer Manager At Showpad
Engineering Leaders at Showpad maintain an unwavering focus on three key pillars: Craftsmanship, People & Project delivery.
Craftsmanship
Define the engineering vision in close collaboration, aligned with product strategy and overall business goals.
Play a crucial role in establishing \"golden paths\" for software development. Further, establishing a buy vs build mentality.
Utilize data from engineering metrics to identify trends and make data-driven decisions for continuous improvement.
People
Attract, hire, and develop top software engineering talent.
Build and lead high-performing engineering teams.
Foster a positive and inclusive work environment that promotes collaboration and innovation.
Implement effective performance management processes and provide career development opportunities.
Project delivery
Define and prioritize engineering projects, aligning with broader company goals.
Lead execution of complex technical projects on time and within budget.
Ensure high-quality software development and delivery, adhering to best practices and security standards.
Collaborate with other engineering teams and stakeholders across the company.
What We Are Looking For
8+ years of experience in software engineering of which 3 years in engineering leadership roles.
Proven track record of building and leading high-performing engineering teams, preferably in a SaaS environment.
Strong technical expertise in software development methodologies and best practices.
Fluent in English.
Excellent communication, collaboration, and interpersonal skills.
Ability to mentor and coach engineers to achieve their full potential.
Passion for building a diverse and inclusive work environment.
Experience in recruiting and managing talent in an international setting.
