Legal Intern


Affordable Medicines Europe is looking for a legal trainee to reinforce its secretariat and support its daily operations and activities, in particular on matters related to legal affairs.
We are looking for an energetic, outgoing, and motivated candidate. The applicant should have already completed, as a minimum, a bachelor's degree in law and have an interest in European policy. The selected candidate should be able to start the traineeship in March/April 2026. The duration of the traineeship is 6 months.
Affordable Medicines Europe represents the parallel distribution of medicines in the EU/EEA. We have more than 120 member companies in 20 EEA countries and the UK. The sector is regulated under EU, as well as national law, and has developed over the last 30 years into an industry with an import turnover of around 7 billion Euros annually. We are 5 people in the Secretariat.
The tasks of the position include:
· Providing support to our legal team.
· Helping monitor and map the legal developments and jurisprudence relevant for the sector.
· Helping the team in legal research, updating our case law database, and compiling information from our members in reports.
· Assisting with activities related to complaints to the European Commission and notifications of technical regulations.
· Attending events/webinars and preparing briefing notes.
The main qualifications we are looking for are:
· Must have full permission to work in Belgium.
· Must NOT have already completed an \"Immersion professionnelle\" or have already undertaken full-time professional employment.
· Must have completed bachelor's degree in law.
· Must be able to write and communicate fluently in English.
· Affinity with European political affairs, preferably for topics related to the EU Single Market, free movement of goods, competition policy, delivery of affordable medicines to patients throughout the EU.
· Ability to work well in a team but also independently.
