Who we are:
NewCold Automation (NCA) continuously seeks the most efficient ways to control Material Handling Equipment (MHE), minimizing operational downtime and maintenance while enhancing ease of use for operators and maintenance personnel. Additionally, NCA strives to reduce on-site installation times while maintaining the high-quality delivery standards required by NewCold.
What we do:
NCA is responsible for upholding high-quality standards in E&I design and PLC software for conveyors, monorails, and cranes. NCA consists of four groups that work closely together to design, procure, install, and commission all software and electronic components related to these systems. Colleagues of each discipline take care of commissioning and leveraging their deep knowledge of the electronic components and software used in AS/RS, conveyors, and monorail systems. Our Project Managers and Supply Chain Manager work closely with NewCold MHE Project Managers to ensure that technical solutions align with schedules and budgets.
Beyond engineering, NCA ensures that electrical installations comply with NewCold's standards and that all systems are properly commissioned. NCA employees are primarily located in Europe (Belgium and Italy) and the United States.
In addition to design and installation, NCA is responsible for aftersales support, providing PLC troubleshooting, spare parts management, and 24/7, year-round assistance.
Your role as a Site Supervisor
About the vacancy:
We are looking for a motivated and hands-on Site Supervisor to strengthen our project execution team. In this role, you will be responsible for leading on-site activities during the installation and commissioning of our automated warehouse systems. You will coordinate subcontractors, monitor progress and safety, and ensure that all work is carried out according to project requirements and standards. You will be part of an international organization experiencing strong growth.
Key Responsibilities:
Lead and supervise all on-site installation activities for automated systems and equipment.
Coordinate and guide subcontractors, ensuring their work is carried out safely, efficiently, and
according to specifications.
Report daily on site progress to ensure transparent communication and accurate project
follow-up.
Monitor project progress, report deviations, and proactively address potential issues.
Perform quality checks and ensure that all installation work meets technical and safety
standards.
Organize and participate in site meetings with internal teams and external partners.
Ensure compliance with safety regulations and promote a strong safety culture on site.
Support commissioning activities in close collaboration with engineers, project managers and subcontractors.
Serve as the key on-site point of contact for stakeholders, ensuring smooth communication and alignment.
Participate in international projects and travel when required.
Provide support to the NCA team during PLC commissioning and system startup
Provide standby support during system startup
Who we are looking for:
We are seeking motivated and forward-thinking individuals who thrive in collaborative and fast-moving environments. Our ideal candidate has:
Technical diploma or bachelor's degree in Engineering, Electromechanics, Industrial Technology, or equivalent experience.
Proven experience in on-site supervision, installation coordination, or field operations (preferably in industrial or automated systems).
Strong understanding of mechanical and/or electrical installations.
Solid leadership skills with the ability to coordinate multiple subcontractors and tasks simultaneously.
Hands-on mentality and strong problem-solving abilities.
Excellent communication skills in English and Dutch.
Strong sense of responsibility, safety awareness, and the ability to work independently.
Proficiency with Microsoft Office applications (Word, Excel, …).
Willingness to travel frequently for project assignments.
