We're Hiring: Freelance Senior IT Cloud Architect
Are you a forward-thinking Cloud Architect ready to shape enterprise-scale platforms and drive innovation? We're seeking a trusted technical leader with a hands-on mindset to design, govern, and evolve modern cloud infrastructure supporting cutting-edge solutions across web, mobile, IoT, data, and AI/ML.
Purpose of the Role
As an IT Cloud Architect, you will act as the design authority for cloud and infrastructure platforms, guiding strategy while delivering scalable, secure, and high-performing solutions. You thrive in complex environments, challenge the status quo, and collaborate effectively with diverse stakeholders to turn vision into reality.
Key Responsibilities
Define and shape cloud and infrastructure strategy
Help establish a Site Reliability Engineering (SRE) practice
Expand Infrastructure as Code (IaC) to improve automation and documentation
Support the development of a Cloud Center of Excellence (CCoE) and cloud governance model
Design platforms that enable generative AI use cases
Identify delivery bottlenecks and implement actionable improvements
Provide architectural guidance, patterns, and standards as a trusted thought leader
Develop templates to standardize system documentation
Evaluate vendor solutions and deliver decision-ready recommendations
Champion DevOps, automation, and modern engineering practices
Translate business requirements into robust technical designs
Skills & Competencies
Strong understanding of global regulatory frameworks (e.g., GxP, HIPAA, SOX, GDPR)
Deep knowledge of cloud-native architectures and well-architected frameworks
Expertise in Microsoft Azure (AWS knowledge is a plus)
Ability to engage across security, networking, infrastructure, automation, and data domains
Excellent communication skills with the ability to simplify complex concepts
Strong business acumen with influencing and stakeholder management capabilities
Solid grasp of Agile principles, product management, and development methodologies
Education & Experience
Master's degree in Computer Science, Software Engineering, or a related field
7+ years in DevOps engineering, including at least 5 years in architecture roles
Cloud Architect certifications or equivalent training
Proven experience deploying production applications into cloud environments
Hands-on experience with Azure, AWS, AI platforms, Databricks, or Microsoft Fabric
Experience transitioning solutions from project delivery into operations and support
Familiarity with multi-partner support models is advantageous
