Senior Solution Architect (Financial Services / Capital Markets) Location: UK (Remote – supporting Hong Kong programme) Engagement: Contract (Enterprise Architecture Assessment Programme) Client Region: Hong Kong (Financial Institution) About the Role We are looking for an experienced Senior Solution Architect to join a strategic Enterprise Architecture (EA) assessment and transformation advisory programme for a leading financial services institution in Hong Kong. This is a high-impact architecture role focused on assessing and modernising a complex application landscape (40–50 systems) across wealth management and capital markets domains. You will work remotely from the UK while collaborating closely with stakeholders in Hong Kong. Some flexibility for overlapping time zones will be required. This is not a coding role — it is a senior architecture position requiring strong analytical depth, structured thinking, and the ability to engage senior business and IT leaders. Key Responsibilities Lead technical assessment of a large portfolio of applications (trading, risk, portfolio, reporting, CRM, etc.) Analyse integration patterns, scalability, technical debt, and operational risks Contribute to target-state application architecture and build-vs-buy evaluation Identify legacy modernisation and coexistence strategies Support roadmap development for a 3-year transformation programme Engage senior IT and business stakeholders to validate architecture recommendations Produce structured documentation and architecture views for executive consumption Required Experience 10+ years in Solution Architecture / Senior Technical Architecture roles Strong background in financial services (capital markets, wealth management, securities, asset management, digital banking) Experience assessing complex enterprise application landscapes Familiarity with capital markets systems (OMS, position keeping, risk engines, settlement, reporting) Experience with vendor platforms and build-vs-buy evaluation Solid understanding of integration architecture (APIs, messaging, event-driven systems) Experience with cloud-native environments (AWS and/or Azure) Desirable Experience Exposure to AI-enabled systems or data architecture Experience in regulated environments Knowledge of digital asset / custody integration (advantageous but not required) Prior experience in Enterprise Architecture assessment or transformation advisory
