About the Role
As our Social Media Specialist, you'll work closely with the Social Media Lead and Community Lead to help shape and execute content strategies across Neopets' key social media platforms.
You'll play a hands-on role in ideation, content creation and especially paid social media strategy to help drive growth, engagement and reach across Neopets' platforms.
Based in our Hong Kong headquarters, you'll also have access to a wide variety of merchandise, props, and in-office creative resources to bring content to life.
You will…
● Create entertaining, iconic content for Neopets' social media that fans actually want to share
● Conceptualize, script, film, and produce short-form video content for TikTok, Instagram Reels, YouTube Shorts.. and beyond
● Understand internet culture, fandom, and nostalgia - and know how to bring Neopets into the conversation in funny, surprising and wholesome ways
● Help shape campaign content strategies alongside our Social Media Lead and Community Lead
● Work with in-house merchandise, props and creative assets from our Hong Kong HQ to bring content to life
● Support paid social media strategy, boosting high-performing content to drive reach, engagement, and global growth
● Run content experiments, track performance and iterate quickly on what works (and what doesn't)
● Collaborate cross-functionally with marketing, community, licensing, and creative teams across multiple time zones to create the best content for a variety of exciting campaigns
You have…
● 2–3 years of social media experience, ideally at a marketing agency or fast-moving brand
● A strong creative instinct and an analytical brain: you understand both storytelling and performance
● Experience with video production and editing tools (CapCut, Adobe Premiere, mobile creator tools, etc.)
● Strong awareness of social trends, memes, and online culture - sometimes before they hit mainstream - and how to apply them to the brand
● Strong interest and capability in paid ad strategy, boosting, and performance-driven content
● Confidence working independently, taking initiative, and pitching ideas proactively
● Strong communication skills and genuine excitement about engaging with fan communities
Bonus Points If You…
● Have played Neopets before or are familiar with the brand and its nostalgic fanbase
● Have experience in gaming, entertainment, or niche fandom-driven industries
● Have an eye for design or experience with basic 2D animation
