About the Job
We are looking for a Manufacturing Process Engineer with experience and a passion for factory design, process optimization, and industrial systems integration to support our research and development efforts as we scale from lab to production. If you love both strategic process planning and hands-on implementation, we want to hear from you At Sparkmate, you'll be part of a dynamic, flat-hierarchy, and fun team where you'll work on real-world industrial challenges and help develop breakthrough low-temperature electrolysis technology at scale.
This role requires both strategic thinking and practical execution in designing manufacturing facilities and processes.
What You'll Do
Develop comprehensive facility designs, including machinery positioning and operational efficiency planning
Plan material flow, throughput analysis, and production line configurations
Evaluate and specify industrial equipment while building standardized component databases
Create digital factory models and simulate production scenarios
Lead greenfield construction projects and brownfield facility upgrades
Work cross-functionally on process integration and commercialization initiatives
Develop and refine manufacturing processes from pilot to production scale
Coordinate with suppliers and construction partners
Oversee technical aspects of equipment setup, startup operations, and performance tuning
What We're Looking For
Strong experience in factory/plant layout design, equipment selection and placement, including workflow efficiency, material flow, throughput analysis, and asset library management
Proficiency with factory design software (Autodesk Factory Design Utilities, Fusion, AutoCAD, Inventor)
Knowledge of structural engineering (building structures, load considerations, networks, etc.)
Ability to create digital models, simulate scenarios, and collaborate on new builds or retrofits
Experience in metallurgy heavy industry or chemical industry is a plus
