Production Resource Manager


Responsibilities
Lead a team of Language Coordinators overseeing translation and interpretation projects for all Chinese language requests from Church Headquarters and Area Leadership.
Supervise translation and interpretation services, and other duties assigned by the Area Translation Manager and from Church Headquarters.
Engage with external translation and interpretation providers for onboarding, training, quality management, and maintaining vendor relations.
Oversee recruitment and onboarding of new linguistic resources to meet the evolving needs of Chinese language users.
Manage and coach full ‑ time Language Coordinators in their professional development and performance.
Develop strategic plans to identify and support the needs of local and global users of Chinese‑language products, and to enhance their overall experience.
Manage urgent translation and publishing requests from Church Headquarters and the Area, including work outside regular business hours when required.
Qualifications
Exceptional communication skills and business ‑ level Mandarin and English proficiency are mandatory. Cantonese is a plus.
Bachelor's degree (preferably in linguistics, translation, or a related field), with 5 years of related experience, or an equivalent combination of education and/or experience in translation and interpretation
3-5 years of people management experience
Expertise in translation and skills in writing, vocabulary, grammar, pronunciation, and syntax of written Chinese (including written language for use in voice-over script translation)
Strong language interpretation skills, simultaneous interpretation experience is strongly preferred
Proven skills in project management, time management, interpersonal communication, problem solving and the ability to work under pressure
Strong track record of delivering projects on time and with a high level of quality
Good understanding of Church doctrine, terminology, policies, ecclesiastical organization, and the cultural and linguistic practices of global Chinese users.
Ability to use translation and business management tools, including CAT tools and web-based systems, to meet daily work requirements.
