Manufacturing Technician


We are seeking a highly skilled Manufacturing Technician to support the development and manufacturing of a novel biosensor platform that integrates cutting-edge microelectronics, photonics and advanced assembly processes.
This role is hands-on and critical to scaling and refining complex optical and microelectronic assemblies from prototype through early production.
The ideal candidate brings deep technical expertise in precision assembly, testing and troubleshooting of complex systems, along with experience working in cleanroom and regulated manufacturing environments.
As a Manufacturing Technician, you will work closely with engineering, quality and operations teams to ensure robust, repeatable and compliant manufacturing processes.
What you will be working on
Assemble, test and troubleshoot complex microelectronic and optical subassemblies and systems
Support development, refinement and transfer of novel assembly and manufacturing processes
Perform precision work using microscopes and other metrology tools for micro-scale components
Operate and maintain cleanroom-compatible tools and equipment
Execute functional, electrical and optical testing of assemblies and document results
Identify manufacturing issues, perform root cause analysis and support corrective actions
Conduct incoming inspection of components and materials per quality requirements
Maintain accurate component inventories and support materials management activities
Follow and help improve standard operating procedures (SOPs), work instructions and travelers
Ensure compliance with GMP, quality controls and ISO 13485 requirements
Collaborate cross-functionally with R&D, Manufacturing Engineering, Quality and Supply Chain
What you bring to the team
Minimum of 5 years of experience in manufacturing, assembly or test of complex microelectronic, optical or optoelectronic system
Technical degree (Associate's or Bachelor's) in Electronics, Manufacturing Technology, Engineering Technology or related field or equivalent hands-on experience
Proven experience assembling and troubleshooting precision optical and microelectronic assemblies
Experience working in cleanroom environments
Proficiency using microscopes and precision tools for micro-scale assembly
Hands-on experience with microelectronics and/or semiconductor fabrication processes and equipment
Strong documentation skills and attention to detail
Ability to work independently while supporting team-based development efforts
Working knowledge of MS Office (Word, Excel)
Proficient in written & spoken English
Considered a plus:
Experience in regulated manufacturing environments
Familiarity with photonics, sensors or semiconductor device packaging
Experience with incoming inspection, inventory control and materials traceability
Working knowledge of GMP, quality systems and controlled documentation
Prior experience operating within an ISO 13485–compliant quality management system
Experience supporting early-stage manufacturing scale-up or process development
