Full Stack Engineer

Full stack developer
Developer for a travel tech company (JavaScript / React)
Hi
Do you want to make a real impact while working for a fast-paced travel tech startup? Is the combination of the travel industry, a community platform and a SaaS-product something that raises your heartbeat? Want to build great software products from scratch and enhance a proven community platform? Does taking full technical and product ownership not scare you at all? Do you like to work together in a tight-knit team where you can be a creative inventor every day? And all of this while virtually traveling the world in your day-to-day job as you build the best travel platform on the planet
Company & role
At Daymaker, we help travelers plan their next trip based on real experiences from like-minded travelers. Thousands of DIY travelers share authentic travel stories, itineraries and tips on our platform, inspiring each other to discover destinations in a more personal way. Cherry on top? Daymaker is free to use for our community.
That's possible because our business model is B2B-focused. We work with (inter)national destinations and travel brands, helping them reach this highly engaged travel community through authentic, user generated content.
This puts Daymaker at the unique crossroad between the B2C traveler and the B2B travel industry, where genuine stories lead to more meaningful and effective connections.
As a full stack developer you'll join forces with our team of 3. You will be building a new SaaS tool for travel marketeers, while continuously improving our community platform with enhancements, new features and UX improvements.
You will:
Not *just* be a code-monkey You'll work together with the rest of the team to deliver end-to-end features, managing the process from concept to delivery.
You'll work closely with our Content & Community manager Hannah to keep our platform bug-free and stress-test new features.
Translating a team brainstorm session into a detailed functional and technical analysis is a reflex you were born with.
Based on your in-depth insight of our upcoming SaaS-tool, you write well designed, testable and efficient code. You'll integrate data from various back-end services and databases, and you'll design and develop API's.
Your tech-curiosity keeps you on top of emerging technologies and industry trends, and you apply these into your day-to-day work.
Your born feeling for front-end design helps your code-magic really come to life.
Accelerating and shortening development sprints via AI-coding is your second nature. And you are proudly showing this off to the rest of the team.
Of course creating solid documentation is also part of your work. But we promise we'll leave you some time to do your actual dev work.
What we have to offer
