Role Description
This is a full-time, on-site role for a Firewall Engineer, based in Hong Kong SAR. The Firewall Engineer will be responsible for managing, monitoring, and maintaining firewall systems to ensure robust network security. Daily tasks include configuring and troubleshooting firewalls, identifying and mitigating cybersecurity threats, and ensuring compliance with information security standards. The role will also involve developing and implementing security measures to protect both infrastructure and sensitive data.
Qualifications
Key Responsibilities
Configure, deploy, and maintain firewall platforms including Check Point, FortiGate, and Palo Alto Networks.
Create, review, and optimize firewall rules in accordance with change management and security standards.
Perform firewall rule testing and validation to ensure proper traffic flow and compliance.
Diagnose and resolve firewall-related incidents, connectivity issues, and performance bottlenecks.
Support firewall upgrades, patching, and policy cleanup activities.
Collaborate with network, security, and application teams during implementation and troubleshooting.
Monitor firewall logs and alerts to identify anomalies or security risks.
Maintain documentation for firewall configurations, rule sets, and operational procedures.
Participate in change management processes and incident response activities.
Required Skills & Experience
2+ years of practical experience managing enterprise firewalls.
Working knowledge of Check Point, FortiGate, and Palo Alto firewall platforms.
Strong understanding of TCP/IP networking, routing, NAT, and VPN concepts.
Experience with firewall rule lifecycle management and troubleshooting methodologies.
Familiarity with security best practices and change control processes.
Ability to analyze logs and network traffic for root cause identification.
Strong problem-solving and communication skills.
