Job Description
At GeoPostcodes, a fast-growing Belgian data-as-a-service (DaaS) company, we are seeking a hands-on Senior Data Engineer to strengthen the foundations of our data platform and build a scalable, reliable, and high-performance data factory. In this role, you will design, build, and maintain reliable data pipelines and databases that power our products worldwide. You will work closely with data scientists, GIS experts, and engineering leadership to deliver pragmatic, high-quality solutions that scale with the business. Customers like Pinterest, Amazon, IBM, DHL and other Fortune 500 companies trust us to keep their data accurate and up to date, and we trust you to help make that happen.
Your Mission
Codebase & Architecture Ownership: Take full responsibility for the health, modularity, and evolution of our data codebase. You define the standards that others follow.
Database & Schema Design: Act as the guardian of our databases and internal data models, ensuring they are optimized for both current delivery and future scale.
Automated Testing Framework: Design, implement, and own a comprehensive testing and validation framework from the ground up to ensure \"Zero-Defect\" data delivery.
CI/CD Pipeline Management: Own the end-to-end deployment process. You ensure that our path from local development to production is automated, secure, and predictable.
Technical Decision Making: Make daily technical choices. You define our tech stack's direction in collaboration with the CTO and Head of Engineering.
Technical Mentorship: Act as the \"Senior Peer\" to Data Engineers and GIS experts, upleveling the team's coding standards and QA methodologies.

Requirements
7+ Years in Data Engineering: Deep experience in building and maintaining production-grade data systems.
Technical Ownership: Proven track record of owning a codebase and driving technical choices in a growing team.
Testing & QA Mastery: Expert-level knowledge in designing automated testing suites for complex data pipelines.
DevOps & CI/CD Literacy: Strong hands-on experience with modern CI/CD tools, Git workflows, and cloud infrastructure.
Python & SQL Mastery: Ability to write and review high-performance code that handles massive geospatial datasets.
The \"Builder\" Mindset: A strong individual contributor who leads by example.
