Belgium, Brussels | Flexible/Hybrid Start date: April 2026 Contract: Full time and permanent About Eclipse Battery storage is essential to enabling cleaner, more independent energy systems. At COP28, governments committed to tripling global renewable capacity by 2030. Yet power markets are still adapting to this rapid expansion. Increased renewable penetration has led to significant price volatility and frequent negative pricing, challenging the economic case for new projects. Eclipse was founded on the conviction that green, local energy storage is critical to unlocking this transition. We: Build, own and operate utility-scale Battery Energy Storage Systems (BESS) Optimize third-party batteries using ML-driven models Actively trade across day-ahead, intraday, balancing and ancillary markets Support grid stability while maximizing value through real-time optimisation Our mission is clear: scale energy storage to build a future-proof, sustainable power ecosystem. Eclipse is a fully integrated platform combining development, financing, modelling, and trading expertise across European energy markets. About the Role As Sales Engineer, you will operate at the crossroads of commercial development, energy market expertise, and Eclipse's optimisation platform. The role is pivotal in translating complex power market dynamics and battery optimisation strategies into clear, compelling value propositions for clients. You will act as a technical-commercial bridge between the Commercial, Market, and Tech teams, supporting sales efforts to aggregate third-party batteries. While you will not be responsible for day-to-day trading, you must be able to understand energy trading strategies, market interactions, and optimisation logic well enough to engage with cross-functional counterparties. This is a client-facing, entrepreneurial role, suited for someone with a strong commercial instinct and a solid understanding of European power markets (with a focus on Belgium), who enjoys combining technical depth with deal-making. Key Responsibilities Commercial Development & Deal Support Support the commercialisation of Eclipse's optimisation and trading solutions to third-party BESS owners, developers, IPPs, and infrastructure funds. Participate actively in client meetings, pitches, RFPs, and due diligence processes as the technical-commercial expert. Help structure and explain optimisation contracts (tolling, revenue share, floor mechanisms, hybrid structures) from a value, risk, and market perspective. Build credibility and trust with clients by clearly articulating risks, upside, and assumptions behind optimisation revenues. Work closely with the commercial team to refine go-to-market messaging and adapt it to different client profiles. Technical & Market Expertise Develop and maintain a strong understanding of Eclipse's BESS optimisation and trading strategies across multiple power markets. Translate energy market dynamics, regulatory frameworks, and optimisation logic into clear messages tailored to clients and investors. Provide structured market and operational input to the Tech team to ensure commercial assumptions are correctly reflected in the optimisation stack. About You Master's degree in Business Engineering, Energy, Engineering, Sciences, Economics, Mathematics, or related field 3–7 years of experience in power markets, energy trading environments, flexibility assets, or energy-related commercial roles Strong commercial mindset with the ability to explain complex market mechanisms clearly Genuine interest in renewable energy and storage Collaborative and cross-functional by nature, yet autonomous when needed Fluent in French, Dutch, and English Why Join Eclipse? Work at the forefront of energy storage and market optimisation Combine technical depth with commercial impact Be part of a high-calibre team shaping the European flexibility landscape Direct exposure to seasoned market participants and strategic deals How to Apply Send your resume to -
