Job Title: Remote mandarin Medical Interpreter
Location: Remote (Home-Based)
Work Type: Video Remote Interpreting (VRI) & Over-the-Phone (OPI)
Job Summary:
We are looking for a skilled and compassionate mandarin Medical Interpreter to bridge the communication gap between healthcare providers and Limited English Proficient (LEP) patients. In this role, you will facilitate vital medical conversations via video or audio, ensuring that every patient receives clear, accurate, and culturally sensitive care regardless of language barriers.
Key Responsibilities:
Facilitate Communication: Provide real-time consecutive (and occasionally simultaneous) interpretation for medical appointments, emergency room visits, and mental health sessions.
Ensure Accuracy: Deliver every message with 100% accuracy, preserving the tone and intent of the speaker without adding, omitting, or changing information.
Act as a Cultural Liaison: Recognize and politely clarify cultural nuances to prevent misunderstandings between patients and providers.
Maintain Ethics: Uphold the National Code of Ethics and HIPAA standards to ensure patient confidentiality and professional boundaries.
Professional Presence: Maintain a calm, neutral, and professional demeanor, even during high-stress or sensitive medical emergencies.
