The Warehouse System & Process Engineer is responsible for leading the process optimization and systems integration within our distribution center and as such is the lead key user for the D365 ERP Implementation. This role is pivotal in designing future-state workflows, implementing ERP and WMS platforms, and driving operational excellence through data-driven engineering and project management.
Accountabilities:
- Lead the implementation of the WMS part of the ERP D365, ensuring alignment with warehouse operations and business goals. This includes the WMS and all the warehouse-related devices such as the voice picking, scanners, conveyors and other automated equipment and master data associated. (Locations, inventory item and classification etc..)
- Collaborate with IT and operations teams to design, test, and implement new WMS platforms. Ensure seamless integration with existing infrastructure and minimal disruption to operations.
- Map and Reengineer Warehouse Processes :Analyze current workflows (receiving, put-away, picking, packing, shipping, replenishment …) and redesign them to with the business goals and ensuring it fits the system capabilities. Develop process maps and SOPs that reflect system-driven efficiencies. Drive the redesign using adequate project methods: Present findings, project updates, and insights to senior leadership and cross functional teams.
- Define System Requirements and Functional Specs: Translate operational needs into technical requirements for warehouse and associated modules. Work with the ERP Center of Competence and internal business project stakeholders to configure all necessary features.
- Optimize Layouts and Material Flow: Use engineering principles to redesign warehouse layouts that complement system logic—such as zone packing, batch processing, and automated replenishment. Ensure that physical space supports digital workflows. Ability to define the quantifiable business values for the changes/improvements. Responsible for developing physical plan, associated timelines, ROI, Costs and project plan, present for leadership approval. Consequently lead the implementation of the approved project.
- Data Management: Ensure data consistency and availability across systems; collaborate with IT to resolve data integrity issues.
- Develop and Monitor Performance Metrics: Create KPIs that leverage ERP/WMS data (e.g., order cycle time, inventory accuracy, pick rate). Use dashboards and reports to track performance and identify bottlenecks. Automate reporting processes and develop scorecards to track operational efficiency.
- Train and Support Operational Teams: Develop training materials and lead workshops to onboard staff to the new systems. Provide ongoing support and troubleshoot issues during the transition period.
- Conduct Simulation and Scenario Testing: Use modeling tools to simulate warehouse operations under the new system. Test different configurations and workflows to validate performance before go-live.
- Drive Continuous Improvement Post-Implementation: Identify gaps between expected and actual performance, and lead initiatives to refine processes and system settings.
- Ensure Compliance and Safety Alignment: validate that new workflows and system-driven tasks comply with safety regulations and ergonomic standards. Adjust processes or system prompts mitigate risks.
- Change Management: Act as a change agent, promoting lean practices and continuous improvement across customs and logistics functions.
Skills & Knowledge:
- At least 5 years of experience in warehouse or distribution center engineering.
- Proficiency in AutoCAD, simulation software, and data analysis tools (Excel, SQL, Power BI).
- Strong understanding of WMS (Warehouse Management Systems) and ERP platforms, preferably D365.
- Project management experience, preferably with Lean or Six Sigma certification.
- Business process mapping & SOP's redaction
- Strong analytical, problem-solving, and communication skills.
- Ambassador of change for the Distribution Center functional area.
- Ability to work collaboratively with cross-functional teams.
- Good written, verbal and presentation skills are necessary to effectively convey messages to management teams or to team members.
- Ability to communicate, present and influence key stakeholders at all levels.

Our offer:
This exciting position offers a salary range between €80,000 to €95,000 (payable in 13.92 instalments). Please be aware that this range represents the pay scale for all positions within the job grade in which the post falls. The actual salary offer will consider a wide range of factors, including skills, experience, and location.
