Senior EU Regulatory Advisor


Join us in this role where you'll monitor and shape EU policy developments and drive regulatory strategies that support our global offshore wind pipeline. You'll engage with EU institutions, influence policy outcomes, and provide clear regulatory guidance to colleagues across development, procurement, generation and sustainability teams.

Welcome to Global Regulatory & Public Affairs

You'll be part of Regulatory and Public Affairs - EU and Global where you, together with your colleagues, will analyse EU legislative developments, build strategic stakeholder relationships, and align our EU level positions with national advocacy efforts. You'll work closely with specialists across multiple markets and functions and support teams working across countries.

You'll play an important role in:

  • monitoring, analysing, and anticipating EU legislative and policy developments relevant to offshore wind, including renewable energy, grids, industrial and trade policy and state aid.
  • shaping and implementing EU regulatory and public affairs strategies that align with our development pipeline and operating assets
  • engaging proactively with EU institutions and relevant agencies to inform implications and influence outcomes
  • representing Ørsted in industry associations, alliances, and stakeholder platforms, such as WindEurope and Eurelectric
  • developing and delivering advocacy positions, policy papers, briefings, and consultation responses
  • advising internal teams on EU regulatory risks, opportunities, and market design topics, ensuring alignment across EU and Member State advocacy.

To succeed in the role, you:

  • strong experience working with EU policy making, preferably within the energy sector
  • demonstrate strong understanding of EU energy and climate policy frameworks, such as Fit for 55, TEN E, Clean Industrial Deal, Electricity Market Design and industrial and trade policy and state aid.
  • have experience engaging directly with or in EU institutions, committees, or legislative processes
  • knowledge of EU policy or legislation, ideally from Brussels-based roles
  • bring insight into industry associations and coalitions, and how they shape regulatory outcomes
  • communicate complex regulatory matters clearly and collaborate effectively with internal and external stakeholders.
  • business-fluent English is required; additional languages are an advantage.

This role includes occasional business travel, with an expected requirement to visit locations in Europe approximately once per month.
