For more than 20 years, Unisensor has been a pioneer in diagnostic engineering by developing rapid testing solutions for food safety. To continue our expansion, we are looking for an Industrialization & Production Scientist

Role and responsibilities

Are you excited about picking up this role in a rapidly growing company, working within a dynamic human size team with great ambitions?

The Scientist we are looking for will play a pivotal role in the industrialization, scale-up and production of a new category of nucleic acid detection-based tests. Acting as a bridge between R&D and Production , you will ensure the smooth transfer of newly developed products from laboratories to industrial manufacturing.

In line with the defined strategic objectives, you will be responsible for setting up and structuring new production and industrialization activities to deliver products on time, at the right cost, and in compliance with quality standards . Your responsibilities will include product manufacturing, scale-up and industrialization activities, in close collaboration with the R&D team. You will also contribute to internal validation and challenge studies of developed products, while ensuring robust and realistic cost estimations.

You will drive the selection, qualification and implementation of the most appropriate resources, processes and equipment required to achieve production objectives, in alignment with allocated budgets. Continuous improvement of production processes, robustness and efficiency will be an integral part of your role.

Hard Skills

  • You hold an Engineering degree in Food Engineering, Industrial Biotechnology, Industrial Chemistry, Biochemistry or related Life Sciences, with at least 3 years of industrial experience in production and/or industrialization;
  • You have hands-on experience in scaling up laboratory processes for industrial production and in supporting manufacturing activities;
  • You are familiar with and apply for Good Laboratory Practices (GLP) and have experience in aseptic manufacturing environments ;
  • You have knowledge of molecular technics (Nucleic acids extraction, PCR) in complex matrices . Any experience in Microbiology is an asset;
  • Experience in the production of kits used for molecular diagnostic and in writing manufacturing SOPs is a strong asset;
  • Experience in freeze drying products is an asset;
  • You are familiar with industrial equipment and processes , and you demonstrate a strong curiosity in all technologies;
  • You have strong ability to discuss and negotiate with suppliers, especially for raw materials;
  • Knowledge of Lean Manufacturing and Six Sigma methodologies is considered a plus;
  • You have a very good command of English (written and spoken).
