Squad Scrum Master Location: Type: B2B Contract
The Scrum Master is the key reference in a project following an agile framework as the Scrum methodology.
S/he ensures the global understanding of the methodology by the Project Team and helps the team to maximize the project’s result.
S/he protects the team for internal and external distractions.
The Scrum Master ensures the proper use and application of the Agile Methodology and coaches the Project Team along with the business lines and stakeholders, explaining which interactions with the team are helpful and which not.
Agile Team Follow-up
set up and facilitate the Scrum ceremonies (Daily Stand-up, Sprint Review, Sprint Planning, Retrospective) and other meetings
guarantee a smooth use of the Scrum methodology and help the Project Team face any obstacles
provide assistance or support to the Product Owner concerning the Product Backlog
assist and support the team in the delivery of the Definition of Done (DoD), Sprint Backlog, etc.
track team capacity and velocity metrics for planning and progress purposes
Responsible for ensuring that the agile techniques used by the squad (Scrum or Kanban) is the most efficient for the squad, are understood and enacted
Shields the squad from interruptions (increase focus of the squad) by helping those outside the Squad to understand which of their interactions with the Squad are helpful and which aren’t, maximizing the value created by the Squad
Tracks squad capacity and velocity metrics for planning and improvement purposes
Maintains relationship with third-party providers in close collaboration with Cluster SM and Asset Management, when applicable
Language requirements:
Dutch & French (Good to have)
English (Sound knowledge of English as well as (at least) one local language).
Telework: Expectation: 50% on site & 50% homeworking .
Agile teams are cross-functional.
All required disciplines are represented in the team (analysis, development, testing, … ).
However, although team members have a primary role representing a discipline, they are expected to take on other roles and contribute to other disciplines whenever it helps towards reaching the sprint goal.
At least 3 years of relevant experience in her/his role of Squad Scrum Master
Sound knowledge of software development methodology
Sound knowledge of project management methodology
Understanding of tooling on automated unit testing, automated functional testing, and continuous integration tooling
Knowledge of agile methodology and techniques (e.g. Ability to manage complex environment and stakeholders
Good team player
Clear, concise, and respectful communication is crucial when working with team members from diverse cultural backgrounds.
Be patient and understanding when working with team members who may have different work styles, communication patterns, or English proficiency levels.
Curiosity and motivation to learn and self-improve (to improve collaboration and communication with the team members).
