Title: Squad Scrum Master

Role description:
Mission context:
- The Scrum Master is the key reference in a project following an agile framework as the Scrum methodology.
- S/he ensures the global understanding of the methodology by the Project Team and helps the team to maximize the project’s result.
- S/he protects the team for internal and external distractions.
- The Scrum Master ensures the proper use and application of the Agile Methodology and coaches the Project Team along with the business lines and stakeholders, explaining which interactions with the team are helpful and which not.
Function description:
Agile Team Follow-up
- set up and facilitate the Scrum ceremonies (Daily Stand-up, Sprint Review, Sprint Planning, Retrospective) and other meetings
- schedule and follow the key steps of the methodology
- guarantee a smooth use of the Scrum methodology and help the Project Team face any obstacles
- provide assistance or support to the Product Owner concerning the Product Backlog
- assist and support the team in the delivery of the Definition of Done (DoD), Sprint Backlog, etc.
- track team capacity and velocity metrics for planning and progress purposes
Agile methodology and Coaching
- Responsible for ensuring that the agile techniques used by the squad (Scrum or Kanban) is the most efficient for the squad, are understood and enacted
- Servant-leader for the Squad
- Shields the squad from interruptions (increase focus of the squad) by helping those outside the Squad to understand which of their interactions with the Squad are helpful and which aren’t, maximizing the value created by the Squad
- Defines and updates with the Squad members, the Squad Strategy
- Coach, challenge, and protect the squad
- Tracks squad capacity and velocity metrics for planning and improvement purposes
- Continuous Improvement sponsor identifying related-tasks and focusing on smooth acceptance and delivery by the squad
- Resolves Squad-level impediments (risks, issues, ...)
- Active internal & external stakeholders’ interaction
- Maintains relationship with third-party providers in close collaboration with Cluster SM and Asset Management, when applicable
Language requirements:
- Dutch & French (Good to have)
- English (Sound knowledge of English as well as (at least) one local language).
Travel: Limited travel to Paris
Telework: Expectation: 50% on site & 50% homeworking .
Agile requirements:
- Agile teams are cross-functional.
- All required disciplines are represented in the team (analysis, development, testing, … ).
- However, although team members have a primary role representing a discipline, they are expected to take on other roles and contribute to other disciplines whenever it helps towards reaching the sprint goal.
Required experience / knowledge:
- At least 3 years of relevant experience in her/his role of Squad Scrum Master
Technical experience
Mandatory:
- Knowledge of agile reporting and follow-up tools (e.g. Rally)
- Sound knowledge of software development methodology
- Sound knowledge of project management methodology
Preferable:
- Working with a package solution
- Understanding of tooling on automated unit testing, automated functional testing, and continuous integration tooling
Business experience
Mandatory:
- Proven on-the-field Delivery experience
- Knowledge of Payments domain
- Knowledge of agile methodology and techniques (e.g. Kanban)
