The role
At our headquarters in Antwerp, the QESG Department plays a crucial role in safeguarding the quality, safety and regulatory compliance of our global operations. To further strengthen this team, we are looking for a Chemical Regulatory Specialist who wants to make a real impact in an international trading environment.
In this role, you ensure that the chemical products we source and distribute worldwide comply with applicable product safety and chemical regulations. You work closely with colleagues from different departments and act as a trusted regulatory partner, supporting both day-to-day operations and new business initiatives.
This is a role for someone who enjoys combining regulatory expertise with practical decision-making in a fast-moving, international context.
Your responsibilities
Assess and document regulatory, business and product-related risks
Perform feasibility studies and risk assessments for new raw materials and chemical products
Monitor evolving chemical legislation and translate regulatory changes into clear, actionable guidance
Provide expert advice on existing and upcoming chemical regulations (EU and non-EU)
Manage country-specific registrations, notifications and regulatory reporting
Research, analyse and critically review chemical, biochemical and toxicological data
Prepare and submit substance and product dossiers to competent authorities
Your profile
Bachelor's or Master's degree in Chemistry, Chemical Engineering or a related field
Ideally around 5 years of experience in chemical regulatory affairs
Solid working knowledge of key regulatory frameworks such as REACH, CLP, TSCA, EURASIA (or similar)
Fluent in English; a working knowledge of Dutch is an asset, but not a requirement
Strong communication skills and the ability to collaborate with international stakeholders
Structured, analytical and proactive, with a genuine interest in keeping up with regulatory developments
A team-oriented professional with a hands-on mindset, who takes ownership and makes well-founded decisions
