This role offers a unique opportunity to shape the future of healthcare while working at the intersection of technology, insurance, and public policy in one of Europe's most complex regulatory environments. We're looking for someone who can autonomously drive change and navigate Belgium's multilayered regulatory landscape while maintaining Alan's mission-driven approach.
The focus should be Belgium first, with natural involvement in European-level projects impacting Alan's expansion across Europe.

Lead flagship regulatory projects enabling Alan to expand our health partner value proposal, with a main focus on Belgium or European Institutions
Help define a truly user-centric future for healthcare, combining the best of human interactions, technology and data
Navigate complex legislative and regulatory processes
Identify and push for meaningful regulatory changes
Build and execute strategic policy roadmaps
Network Building
Build and maintain relationships with Belgian federal and regional health ministers, parliamentary health committees, and key civil servants
Engage with Belgian healthcare federations, medical associations, and digital health stakeholders
Represent Alan's interests in Belgian healthcare policy discussions and regulatory consultations
Create strategic partnerships with Belgian healthcare institutions and innovation hubs
Expert Leadership
Translate complex Belgian healthcare policies into actionable business strategies for Alan
Prepare Alan leadership for engagement with Belgian media, politicians, and regulatory bodies
Connect Alan's healthcare initiatives to Belgium's broader social security and economic policies
Support internal teams in understanding Belgian regulatory requirements and compliance obligations
Identify opportunities for Alan to influence Belgian healthcare policy in our favor
We're looking for someone who combines policy expertise with strategic thinking, has a deep understanding of the healthcare system, and can autonomously drive change in complex regulatory landscapes.
The ideal candidate will bring versatility and strong fundamentals in healthcare, in addition to a public affairs experience. They should be excited about tackling flagship projects, helping us define the future of healthcare while effectively managing day-to-day regulatory work.
ExperienceExperience in public affairs (7 to 10 years), with focus on quality rather than quantity
Background in one or more of the following:
Minister's staff with Health/Social expertise
Head of Public Affairs in companies from the healthcare or insurance industry managing complex regulatory challenges
Senior position (A+) in Central administration or public entities
Parliamentary assistance with current network
Public Affairs consultancy with additional private sector experience
Expertise in health, insurance and social protection systems
Mastering of legislative and regulatory processes
Strategic thinking (ability to connect healthcare policies to broader economic and political context) and synthesis/simplification capabilities
Existing public/professional network
Project management and autonomous work capabilities
Understanding of technology and its regulatory implications
Appetite for a high intensity and fast-pace working environment
Willingness to challenge status quo
Strong interpersonal skills
Very good written and verbal communication skills
Negotiation expertise
Rigour of reasoning and attention to detail
Native-level French and / or Dutch
Professional fluency in English (spoken and written)
