To expand our investment team, we are looking for a Scientific Analyst.

Job description

As a Scientific Analyst you will be part of Droia's investment team. You will assist in the scientific evaluation of new investment opportunities and support the development of the companies within our portfolio.

Your primary responsibilities will include:

• Keep up to date with relevant scientific developments (through literature, conferences and network) to identify opportunities for investments or company creations.
• Conduct scientific evaluations and due diligence (through scientific analysis, mapping of competition and clinical landscape, and calls with experts) to help make investment decisions.
• Participate in the creation process of new biotech companies through conceptualization of hypotheses and scientific work plans.
• Support portfolio companies through evaluation, reporting and presentation of scientific developments.

Your profile

We are looking for candidates with the following background and skills:

Scientific background:

• PhD in life sciences and/or MD (Internal Medicine), relevant to either oncology, immunology, diseases in a genetically defined patient population.
• Strong interest in the translational aspects of science and drug development; Prior experience in VC and/or biotech is a plus.
• Native Dutch or bilingual.
• Written and verbal fluency in English.
• A critical mindset with strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
• A can-do attitude to drive projects independently.
• Able to multi-task, be structured, and meet deadlines.
• Accustomed to deliver high quality results and strive for constant improvement.
• Ability to work in a diverse, dynamic and fast-changing environment.
• Strong collaborative spirit is essential.
• Activities might include exposure to confidential and sensitive information necessitating considerable use of tact, diplomacy, discretion, and judgement.
