Job Description – Legal Counsel / Legal Support (Real Estate) Role overview We are seeking a Legal Counsel / Legal Support professional to assist with legal matters related to real estate and land rights, particularly in the context of infrastructure and development projects. The role involves providing legal support throughout negotiations, drafting and reviewing agreements and deeds, and ensuring legal consistency and risk control in real estate transactions. Key responsibilities
Provide legal assistance during negotiations with local residents, businesses, farmers, and public authorities to establish and safeguard real estate rights.
Answer legal questions related to option agreements, purchase and sale agreements, easements, land use, housing arrangements, and neighbor relations.
Participate in the analysis, drafting, and finalization of notarial deeds prior to signature at the notary.
Draft, update, and maintain templates for agreements and deeds related to real estate transactions, ensuring consistency and effective legal risk management.
Support project teams from the definition phase through to completion, providing timely and practical legal advice.
Monitor legal developments relevant to real estate and property law and assess their impact on ongoing projects.
Profile & requirements
Master of Law (a supplementary Master's degree in Notarial Law is considered an asset).
Minimum 2 years of relevant legal experience, either as a lawyer or in an in-house real estate/legal role.
Solid knowledge of real estate, property, and contract law.
Experience with notarial deeds and real estate transactions is a strong advantage.
Very good command of Dutch and French; knowledge of English is an asset.
Strong analytical skills, attention to detail, and the ability to work independently.
Pragmatic mindset with good communication and negotiation skills.
Location : Brussels 12 hours per week, possibility of a remote position.
