Senior Student Counselor

Are you passionate about making a difference in students' lives? We are seeking a dedicated and experienced counselor to join our dynamic team at the Counseling and Wellness Center.

Position Overview: As a Senior Student Counselor, you will report to the Head of Counseling and Wellness and play a crucial role in supporting our diverse student body. Your responsibilities will include:

  • Personal Counseling: Provide individual and group counseling to help students overcome challenges and achieve personal growth.
  • Cross-Cultural Counseling: Assist students from various cultural backgrounds in maximizing their educational experience.
  • Workshops & Seminars: Conduct engaging workshops, seminars, and orientation activities on mental health, academic concerns, and life skills.
  • Crisis Intervention: Offer timely intervention for students, faculty, and staff in crisis situations.
  • Consultation Services: Advise faculty and staff on student mental health issues and development.
  • Professional Supervision: Provide clinical supervision to fellow counselors.
  • Collaboration & Impact: You will work closely with academic departments and non-academic offices to help students resolve personal concerns and develop essential skills for success. This role may require irregular working hours to meet the needs of our students.
    Qualifications:

  • Master's degree in clinical psychology, or related disciplines.
  • Minimum of 8 years of relevant post-qualification experience, including supervisory experience.
  • Registration or eligibility for registration with professional bodies such as the Hong Kong Psychological Society and Hong Kong Professional Counseling Association.
  • Fluency in Cantonese, Putonghua, and English.
  • Excellent communication, interpersonal, group work, and crisis intervention skills.
  • Preference for candidates with experience working with tertiary-level students and a passion for enhancing educational goals.

    Starting salary will be commensurate with qualifications and experience.  Fringe benefits including annual leave, medical and dental benefits will be provided.  A gratuity will be payable upon successful completion of contract.
