Associate Consultant or Consultant, Sustainability and Energy


Description

APCO's Brussels office is hiring an Associate Consultant or Consultant to join our Sustainability and Energy team. We are looking for an ambitious, enthusiastic and talented professional to join our team based on rue Montoyer, just a few minutes' walk from the European Institutions.

As an Associate Consultant or Consultant, you will be involved in the day-to-day support of client assignments by monitoring institutional developments and/or media, conducting and analyzing research on a variety of client-related issues or on business development efforts and by drafting materials for clients for both internal and external use. 

This role provides exposure to a wide range of high-profile projects and international clients with the chance to collaborate across global teams and offers the opportunity to be part of a high-performing, inclusive, and collaborative team environment. 

Responsibilities:

  • Organize and deliver coverage of key policy, political, media, and stakeholder developments to clients, providing clear and concise analysis of business implications.
  • Preparation of client ready materials such as policy analyses, briefing notes, summary reports and coordination of policy working groups.
  • New business development, including drafting proposals and participating in new business pitches.
  • Mentor and develop junior team members, fostering a culture of excellence and continuous improvement.

Qualifications:

  • At least 3 – 5 years of relevant work experience, in consultancy, European institutions, or within trade associations.
  • A good understanding of the EU Energy & Sustainability policy landscape, complex policy issues and the legislative/regulatory process. Previous experience in the data centre sector would be an advantage.
  • Exceptional writing and analytical skills, and the ability to write both strategically and creatively under tight deadlines. 
  • Excellent client and interpersonal skills; ability to manage client relationships, coordinate membership and communicate effectively.
  • Outstanding presentation skills including the ability to engage executive leadership and experience briefing senior-level clients.
  • Strong understanding of EU institutions and decision-making procedures.
  • Demonstrate entrepreneurial spirit and creative problem-solving skills.
