INTERNSHIPS – FLINT EUROPE – BASED IN BRUSSELS

Our Brussels team has a requirement for an intern to join for a period of 3 to 6 months from March This placement will be remunerated under the conditions of the \"Convention d'immerssion professionnelle\".

Members of our multi-national team have experience of working at the most senior levels in European governments, the EU Commission, regulatory agencies, competition bodies and the private sector.

We support companies who face the challenges of regulatory and policy change at national, European and international levels. This includes major developments affecting business in Europe; the political and economic management of mergers, acquisitions and other transactions; the design and delivery of efficient regulatory regimes; and how to maximize the value.

WHO YOU WILL WORK WITH?

When you join Flint Europe as an Intern, you are joining a business advisory firm that will challenge you and invest in your development. In this role you will work with the best teams to help support clients who face the challenges of regulatory and policy change at national, European, and international levels. These are businesses which require advice at the point where government and business meet – in private, public, and social sectors – we offer an authoritative perspective on both.

We help our clients anticipate, interpret and respond to developments in policy and politics. We advise on how they can shape the business environment and work constructively with policymakers to achieve their goals, in a context where governments are becoming more interventionist.

WHAT YOU WILL DO

You will be assigned to our Policy & Political Affairs practice area where you will support client engagements by providing analysis and briefing, contributing to policy development and project management.

Our expertise in policy development and political analysis stems from decades of experience at the most senior levels of government decision-making in the UK and EU. We work on high profile European, British and EU member state regulatory and policy initiatives, transactions and competition cases, grounding our advice in persuasive, evidence-based arguments that resonate with policy-makers.

Interns receive frequent coaching and mentoring from colleagues on their teams. This support includes a Partner from your practice area to help guide your career, helping you to develop your skills and build your network.  You may also have the opportunity to interact with colleagues in our London office.

YOUR SKILLS

You will bring the following range of skills:

  • Educated to at least degree level
  • You will have an interest in the political field, able to demonstrate knowledge in EU politics and political governance.
  • Excellent analytical, quantitative, research and problem-solving skills.
  • Outstanding written communication skills, ability to draft clear documents in English.
  • Outstanding oral communication skills.
  • Good organizational skills including the capacity to prioritize, plan and schedule complex tasks proactively, and be comfortable working under pressure and to tight deadlines.
  • Strong interpersonal skills – a flexible approach and the ability to work well across teams, both with internal colleagues and external clients.
