IT support specialist


We are seeking an experienced IT Support Specialist to manage comprehensive IT operations for our Brussels office part-time. This role encompasses end-user support, system administration, vendor management, and cybersecurity responsibilities.

Required Skills & Experience
Core Technical Competencies

  • End-user Support:
    Windows/Mac workstation setup, configuration, and troubleshooting
  • Software Licensing:
    License management, SaaS contracts
  • Security Solutions:
    ESET antivirus deployment, management, and policy configuration
  • Password Management:
    1Password administration, user onboarding, and user training
  • Administration:
    Google Workspace management (user accounts, permissions, security settings)
  • Backup Solutions:
    Implementation and monitoring of backup systems, disaster recovery procedures
  • Asset Management:
    IT inventory tracking, hardware lifecycle management, procurement coordination

Cybersecurity & Compliance

  • Some experience with security awareness training
  • Understanding of access control principles and permission auditing
  • Data security and sharing permissions management
  • Basic cybersecurity best practices and incident response

Vendor & Service Management

  • Telecommunications management (experience with Proximus or similar ISPs preferred)
  • Third-party vendor coordination and relationship management
  • Incident logging, tracking, and resolution with external support providers
  • Service level agreement (SLA) monitoring

Financial & Administrative

  • IT budget planning and tracking
  • Cost management and vendor invoice reconciliation
  • Purchase order processing and approval workflows

Preferred Qualifications

  • 3-5 years of IT support experience in a small to medium-sized organization
  • Experience working in a Belgian business environment (understanding of local vendors and practices)
  • Fluent English (we have an international team)
  • Additional language skills (French or Dutch) are advantageous but not required
  • Familiarity with GDPR compliance requirements

Typical Responsibilities

  • Procure, configure, and deploy new computer equipment
  • Provide day-to-day technical support to office staff
  • Maintain relationships with external IT service providers
  • Manage and monitor all software licenses and subscriptions
  • Conduct security awareness training and manage cybersecurity platforms
  • Ensure reliable internet connectivity and resolve telecommunications issues
  • Perform regular backup verification and permission audits
  • Maintain accurate records of IT assets and configurations
  • Manage IT budget and track technology expenses
