For Nipro Medical, we are looking for a Business Development manager who is experienced, hands-on, and communicative to join us in our sales team, based in our EMEA headquarters office in Mechelen, Belgium.

About the role

The Business Development Manager for Africa drives growth across Nipro's African markets by identifying new opportunities and expanding existing ones. Acting as the main commercial contact, the role oversees projects, manages stakeholder relationships, and ensures smooth operations in line with strategic objectives. Responsibilities include setting budgets, monitoring performance, and coordinating with internal teams to deliver sustainable business outcomes.

How you will contribute

  • Business development (45%)

As one of Nipro Europe's key emerging markets, this role will focus on driving business development across the African region. The primary objective is to identify and capitalize on new business opportunities while strengthening our presence in existing markets

  • Under the guidance of the Sales Manager Africa, identify and develop new projects in untapped territories and expand our footprint in countries where Nipro already operates.
  • Initiate new deals, monitor ongoing projects, and implement corrective actions when necessary to ensure sustainable growth and performance.
  • Act as the single point of contact for all commercial activities within the assigned territory, ensuring effective management of operations and maintaining strong relationships with key stakeholders, including distributors, healthcare authorities, and ministries.
  • Oversee day-to-day business activities to achieve sales objectives and deliver long-term value for the organization.

  • Regular tasks (40%)

  • Organize regular meetings with internal and external stakeholders to review ongoing business in Africa.

  • Ensure smooth business execution from start to finish through close collaboration and alignment with various departments (e.g., Legal, Finance, Technical, Regulatory Affairs, Quality Assurance) to guarantee proper implementation of processes.

  • Under the guidance of the SMA, organize regular meetings with internal departments while acting as the single point of contact for customers, ensuring clear and coordinated communication at all times.

  • Strategy (5%)

Execute the strategy to ensure growth in the area and to broaden the product portfolio, in line with the African Strategy for Distributors.

  • Budget and Administration (10%)

The Business Development Manager Africa is responsible for setting territory-specific objectives that align with the company's overall strategic goals.

This role includes preparing the territory budget, monitoring performance against targets, and providing timely, accurate management reports to the Sales Manager Africa.

The Business Development Manager holds full accountability for business outcomes within the assigned territory, ensuring effective execution of plans and achievement of growth objectives.

What you bring to Nipro

  • .Master degree or equivalent
  • Min 4 years of experience in a similar role
  • Willingness to travel up to 30%
  • An excellent command of both English and French is required. Any additional language is a plus
  • Sales and service oriented with excellent communication skills

  • Experience in Africa is an added value
  • Experience in Medical Devices is an added value
