The Burson Brussels Corporate and Public Affairs Team is looking for an enthusiastic intern for a 6-month internship, starting February 2026.
You will join a collaborative, dynamic team of public affairs and communication professionals, supporting account teams to design and execute integrated advocacy, messaging, media, and creative communication strategies for our clients.

Your Responsibilities
Conduct research and monitor policy and media developments to provide actionable insights for client strategies.
Assist in creating targeted stakeholder mappings and media outreach plans.
Draft and refine strategic recommendations, tailored messaging, and communication materials to guide clients' public affairs and media approaches.
Identify opportunities and risks stemming from events, legislative developments, or media trends; produce consistent updates and status reports for clients and internal stakeholders.
Support in the execution of creative advocacy campaigns, events, and policymaker and media briefings for maximum influence.
Collaborate on the creation of engaging media content for outreach via traditional and digital channels.

Foundational knowledge and a strong interest in EU policy, the EU decision-making process, and EU institutions.
Demonstrable skills in message development, storytelling, and crafting communications for diverse audiences.
Strong research, analytical, and organizational skills, with the ability to identify and distill complex topics into strategic insights.
Proactive team player with critical thinking skills and a desire to thrive in a fast-paced, international environment.
Quality-focused with strong attention to detail and an ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously under tight deadlines.
Proficiency in Microsoft Office (Word, Outlook, PowerPoint, and Excel).
Studies in a field such as political science, public affairs, law, communications, journalism, public relations or marketing.
Strong written and oral English skills are essential. Knowledge of another European language is a plus.
Experience with digital communications and social media tools is an advantage.
Previous public affairs, communications, or media relations experience in an EU institution, trade association, regulatory organization, press team, or PR/communications agency is appreciated but not required.
What We Offer
A 6-month internship from February 2026 to July 2026 under Convention d'Immersion Professionnelle (CIP). Please note that the CIP agreement excludes any internships for which the intern receives academic credit or undertakes as a part of a degree. To be eligible for a CIP convention, candidates must have the right to work full-time in Belgium.
