Freelance Platform Engineer - Large Transformation Project - Long Term
We are looking for an experienced Platform Engineer to build, operate, and continuously improve our core platform infrastructure. The role has a strong focus on observability, monitoring, and incident response, ensuring platform reliability and performance at scale. You will work closely with DevOps, SRE, and development teams to provide a stable, automated, and well-observed Kubernetes-based platform.
Responsibilities
- Design, build, and maintain Kubernetes-based platforms supporting multiple applications and services.
- Manage and optimise Linux-based infrastructure in cloud and/or on-prem environments.
- Implement Infrastructure as Code using tools such as Terraform, Bicep, Ansible, or similar.
- Ensure platform scalability, availability, and performance.
- Design and operate observability solutions covering metrics, logs, and traces.
- Implement and maintain monitoring and alerting systems (e.g. Prometheus, Grafana, ELK/Elastic, OpenTelemetry).
- Lead or support incident response, root cause analysis, and post-incident reviews.
- Implement reliability improvements based on incident learnings.
- Develop automation and tooling to reduce manual operational work.
- Apply engineering best practices to platform development and operations.
- Contribute code in Python, Go, Bash, or similar languages.
