Job Description – SAP Project Manager

We are seeking an experienced External Project Manager to lead and deliver multiple Business Applications projects within a large, complex, and politically sensitive organisation. The ideal candidate is a hands-on project manager with strong technical capabilities, proven leadership skills, and the ability to operate effectively across diverse stakeholder groups.

This role goes beyond coordination: the Project Manager will be actively involved in technical delivery, decision-making, and people management, particularly within large-scale SAP transformation initiatives.

Key Responsibilities

• Lead end-to-end delivery of Business Applications projects, from initiation through implementation and stabilisation
• Drive large SAP migration and transformation projects, ensuring scope, quality, timeline, and budget adherence
• Act as a hands-on Project Manager, contributing directly to technical discussions, solution design, and implementation activities
• Manage internal and external stakeholders in a complex, political environment, aligning priorities and resolving conflicts
• Coordinate cross-functional teams (IT, business, vendors, integrators) and ensure effective collaboration
• Proactively identify risks, dependencies, and issues, and define mitigation plans
• Ensure clear communication, reporting, and governance towards senior management and steering committees

Required Skills & Experience

• Proven experience as a Project Manager on large-scale SAP migration or transformation projects
• Strong hands-on technical background (not limited to coordination or agenda management)
• Excellent soft skills, including leadership, stakeholder management, and conflict resolution
• Ability to work effectively in a large, complex, and politically sensitive organisation
• Comfortable managing both technical delivery and people management aspects of projects
• Strong organisational and communication skills
