ABOUT THE JOB - Freelance Network Engineer – Brussels

We’re looking for a Freelance Network Engineer to support and improve our enterprise network environment in Brussels. This role is suited for an experienced contractor who’s comfortable working autonomously in a professional, structured environment.

Responsibilities

• Operate and support LAN, WAN, WLAN, and data centre networks
• Configure and maintain routers, switches, firewalls, and VPNs
• Monitor network performance and troubleshoot incidents
• Support network upgrades, changes, and improvement projects
• Work with system, cloud, and security teams when needed

Skills & Experience

• 3+ years’ experience as a Network Engineer or similar role
• Strong knowledge of TCP/IP, routing and switching (BGP, OSPF, VLANs)
• Hands-on experience with Cisco, Juniper, Aruba, Fortinet, or similar vendors
• Solid understanding of network security fundamentals

Nice to have

• Cloud networking experience (AWS, Azure, GCP)
• Automation or scripting (Python, Ansible)
• Relevant certifications (CCNA, CCNP, JNCIA)

• Start Date: ASAP
• Contract: Freelance/contract role
• Onsite Policy: On-site / hybrid in Brussels
• Duration: Long-term
• Rate: Dependant on experience (€550 - €700/day)
• Hours Per Week: Full time.
• Languages: English
