🔍 About the Role
We are seeking a motivated and curious Research Technician to join an innovative Battery Materials & Energy Storage R&D team. This role offers hands-on exposure to advanced battery materials, conductive additives, and lithium-ion battery technologies, contributing directly to next-generation energy storage solutions and the global energy transition.
You will work in a collaborative innovation environment where your experimental work will have visible impact on real products and technologies.
🧪 Key Responsibilities
🔹 Battery Fabrication & Testing
- Perform in-house lithium-ion battery fabrication and performance testing
- Support evaluation of conductive additives and active materials for energy storage applications
🔹 Data Generation & Analysis
- Generate, collect, document, and analyze physical and electrochemical performance data
- Maintain accurate experimental records to support R&D decision-making
🔹 Formulation & Materials Development
- Support development and optimization of battery formulations and chemistries
- Conduct experimental work with powders, nanomaterials, and conductive additives
🔹 Laboratory Operations & Equipment
- Operate, maintain, and troubleshoot laboratory equipment
- Support installation, setup, and commissioning of new testing capabilities
- Work in controlled environments, including gloveboxes
🔹 Inventory, Compliance & Safety
- Manage laboratory chemicals, consumables, and inventory
- Follow SOPs and ensure compliance with safety, documentation, and quality standards
- Safely handle hazardous materials including nano powders, organics, and acids/bases
🎓 Education & Experience
Required
Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in:
- Chemistry
- Analytical Chemistry
- Electrochemistry
- Chemical Engineering
- Materials Science
Hands-on experience in an R&D laboratory environment
Experience working in controlled atmospheres (e.g., glovebox)
Experience handling hazardous chemicals and powders
Must-Have (Strong Preference)
- MTech / Master’s in Electrochemistry or Materials Science
- EV Battery or Energy Storage industry experience
- Research experience in battery materials or electrochemical systems
Nice to Have
- Prior experience in lithium-ion battery fabrication
- Experience with advanced materials characterization techniques
🔧 Technical Skills & Tools
- Materials characterization: conductivity, BET surface area, TGA, OAN
- Particle size analyzer, pycnometer
- Electrochemical testing techniques
- Safe handling of nanomaterials and chemical reagents
