Role Summary

C&C life sciences is currently working with a privately held specialty pharma organisation with a portfolio focused on hospital‑based therapies, commercialised through distributor networks across international markets., is seeking a Commercial Alliances Manager to manage and grow their distributor network across assigned countries. Acting as a country business owner, the role combines commercial leadership, operational oversight, and financial accountability.


The position ensures strong coordination with internal teams including Supply Chain, Customer Service, Finance, and Regulatory to deliver an efficient and compliant order-to-cash process while managing contracts, compliance, and performance across distributor partners.


Role Summary

Our client, a specialty pharmaceutical company focused on hospital and critical care therapies, is seeking a Commercial Alliances Manager to manage and grow their distributor network across assigned countries. Acting as a country business owner, the role combines commercial leadership, operational oversight, and financial accountability.


The position ensures strong coordination with internal teams including Supply Chain, Customer Service, Finance, and Regulatory to deliver an efficient and compliant order-to-cash process while managing contracts, compliance, and performance across distributor partners.


Key Responsibilities:


Distributor & Alliance Management

  • Own and manage distributor and alliance relationships with full accountability for performance.
  • Act as the entrepreneurial lead for assigned countries, balancing partnership and performance management.
  • Serve as the primary escalation point for commercial, operational, and contractual matters.
  • Drive distributor performance through structured governance, business reviews, and action plans.


Order-to-Cash & Cross-Functional Coordination

  • Coordinate with Supply Chain, Customer Service, and Finance to ensure seamless order-to-cash execution.
  • Monitor demand forecasts, orders, delivery, invoicing, and collections.
  • Identify and mitigate risks related to supply continuity, service levels, and cash flow.


Contractual & Compliance Management

  • Lead the setup and ongoing management of distributor contracts in collaboration with Legal.
  • Ensure full compliance with contractual obligations, local regulations, and company standards.
  • Monitor KPIs and service level agreements, anticipating risks before they arise.


Performance Management & KPIs

  • Define, monitor, and analyze commercial and operational KPIs.
  • Lead distributor performance reviews and implement corrective actions.
  • Prepare reporting and dashboards for senior management.


Country P&L Ownership

  • Act as country business owner with accountability for operational P&L.
  • Drive revenue growth, margin optimization, and cost discipline.
  • Lead budgeting, forecasting, and long-term business planning.


Field Engagement & Operational Optimisation

  • Conduct field visits to distributor premises and local markets.
  • Assess commercial execution, operational performance, market dynamics, and compliance.
  • Identify and implement operational improvements.


Business Development

  • Identify growth opportunities within territories, including portfolio expansion and new partner opportunities.
  • Support market entry strategies, tenders, and product launches.
  • Contribute to strategic alliances aligned with company growth objectives.


Qualifications & Experience

  • Mandatory experience within the pharmaceutical industry, ideally in commercial alliances, distributor management, country management, or international commercial roles
  • Proven track record managing distributor or alliance partners across multiple countries, with end‑to‑end accountability for performance
  • Experience acting as a country or business owner, with responsibility for commercial results, operational execution, and financial outcomes
  • Strong understanding of pharmaceutical supply chains, distributor‑led operating models, and order‑to‑cash processes
  • Demonstrated experience working cross‑functionally with Supply Chain, Finance, Regulatory, Customer Service, and Legal
  • Solid financial and commercial acumen, with experience managing or influencing country‑level P&L, budgets, forecasts, and margins
  • Hands‑on experience managing contracts, commercial terms, KPIs, and compliance with external partners
