Automation Engineer

At Decospan, we are looking for an Automation Engineer who helps define the direction of how we approach automation across the group. This is not a classic programming role, but a content-driven position with room for vision, decision-making, and technical depth.

• You work on automation projects from concept to acceptance and safeguard standards for electrical design, software, and safety.
• You coordinate with machine builders and integrators, review electrical schematics and software architectures, and verify during FAT/SAT that design and reality match.

You won’t be doing this alone: local Automation Engineers take care of the day-to-day maintenance of the machine park and report within the maintenance organization. You collaborate with them on more complex or structural challenges and help shape the further development of automation.

What this role is not

• No on-call duty or daily troubleshooting
• Not a pure programming role

What we expect

• You take ownership of the automation landscape and think conceptually.
• You dare to make technical choices and discuss them openly with suppliers and colleagues.
• You work mainly onsite in Menen, with flexibility for working from home and occasional travel within Europe.
• You report to the Group Engineering Manager.
