Rotation: Monday-Friday.

Project Description

As a Lead E&I Engineer in Olen, you are responsible for managing electrical and instrumentation projects from concept to delivery. You act as the technical discipline lead for E&I within large-scale multidisciplinary industrial investment projects (up to €30 million) and work closely with the Project Manager, who holds overall responsibility for the project.

This is not a purely design-oriented role — we are looking for a Lead Engineer who can provide technical leadership and coordination within multidisciplinary projects.

Tasks & Responsibilities

• Independently lead the electrical and instrumentation (E&I) discipline from A to Z, from feasibility studies through commissioning and handover.

• Make technical decisions regarding materials and applications, taking environmental factors into account.

• Collaborate closely with internal project teams (mechanical, site, design), the Project Manager, and external partners.

• Interpret and assess electrical diagrams and cable calculations (including in Caneco) and provide solutions where necessary.

• Ensure compliance with ATEX regulations throughout all relevant project phases.

• Support projects related to process installations (e.g., battery-related projects such as anode).

• Work from transformer level, focusing on low voltage with basic knowledge of high voltage.

• Prepare technical specifications and tender documents, define and monitor project budgets, and track planning and milestones.

• Correctly interpret SIL, PL, and Exi calculations to ensure functional safety and compliance.

• Correctly interpret Exi calculations in the context of ATEX regulations.

• Be willing to travel occasionally within Europe and Asia for project follow-up.

Technical Profile Requirements

• Master’s or bachelor’s degree in electrical engineering.

• Minimum 3 years of experience in a leading E&I role within process industry projects.

• Minimum 7 years of experience as an E&I Engineer in the process industry.

• Excellent knowledge of industrial instrumentation (pressure, flow, level measurements, etc.).

• Experience with project-based work in the process industry.

• Strong knowledge and practical experience with ATEX guidelines and applications.

• Ability to interpret electrical diagrams (e.g., in EPLAN) — drawing skills are not required.

• Experience with Caneco for cable calculations and interpretation.

• Proven experience interpreting SIL safety calculations.

• Basic knowledge of hardware and automation (no programming knowledge required).

Non-Technical Profile Requirements

• You work independently.

• You work proactively.

• You are solution-oriented.

• You can act diplomatically.

• You can communicate smoothly with different levels.

Language Skills

• Fluent in Dutch.

• Fluent in English.

• Other languages are a plus.

Location

• Olen.

• Onsite presence required.

• Standard client policy applies after the induction period.
