🚀 We're Hiring: Azure Cloud Engineer / DevOps - Freelance Contract

📍 Location: Ghent | Hybrid (2 days/week on-site)

Planet Phare are partnered with a leading organisation in a highly regulated, innovation-driven industry, and we’re looking for a Azure Cloud Engineer / DevOps to join their growing Infrastructure Engineering team.

In this role, you’ll act as a Cloud Champion, helping shape and support cloud-based solutions across the business. You’ll work closely with internal product teams as well as the Cloud Center of Excellence (CCoE) to design, document, automate, and optimise Azure environments using Terraform and Infrastructure-as-Code (IaC) principles.

🔧 Key Responsibilities

• Design Azure cloud solutions aligned with internal governance, policies, and best practices.
• Collaborate with product teams to understand infrastructure needs and translate them into scalable solutions.
• Document cloud architectures, deployment processes, and operational guidelines.
• Implement Infrastructure as Code (IaC) with Terraform and manage source control via Git.
• Automate deployments with a focus on scalability, security, and compliance.
• Monitor, troubleshoot, and support cloud environments as part of day-2 operations.
• Act as a connector between engineering teams and the CCoE to ensure cloud governance is upheld.

✔️ Required Skills & Experience

• Hands-on experience with Microsoft Azure and modern DevOps practices.
• Proficiency with Terraform and IaC workflows.
• Strong understanding of infrastructure fundamentals (networking, compute, storage, security).
• Experience using Git for version control.
• Ability to create clear technical documentation.
• Basic cloud security and compliance understanding.
• Strong analytical and troubleshooting skills.
• Excellent communication and teamwork abilities.

⭐ Nice-to-Have

• Experience building or maintaining CI/CD pipelines.
• Familiarity with Azure monitoring and logging tools.
• Experience working in a regulated sector (e.g., pharma, finance, etc.).
