What You’ll Be Doing


This hybrid role combines legal and administrative responsibilities to support the Legal & Business Affairs team and our general management. You’ll work closely with senior legal personnel, internal teams, authors, artists and partners to ensure smooth operations and legal compliance.


Key responsibilities


·      Support senior Legal & Business Affairs team members with agreements, rights acquisitions and group matters.

·      Draft and prepare publishing, administration, service and ancillary agreements (e.g., translation, sample, synch deals) related to book and music publishing.

·      Conduct research related to book and music publishing (e.g., legal doctrine, professional industry news, administrative research related to CMOs/subsidies).

·      Maintain and improve rights management systems and databases.

·      Coordinate meetings, agendas, take notes and follow-up actions across departments.

·      Assist with budget tracking, invoice processing, and purchase orders.

·      Ensure accuracy in contracts, royalties, and financial documentation.

·      Monitor project progress and provide updates to stakeholders.

·      Support training and development programs, especially those related to books and music industry trends.

·      Ensure consistent application of company policies and contribute to policy updates.


Skills and Experience Required


·      Degree in Law (Bachelor or Master) or Law Practice (“Rechtspraktijk”).

·      Sound understanding of intellectual property law, especially copyright.

·      Minimum two years’ experience in a legal or creative industry administrative role specifically in contracting roles.

·      Exceptional organisational skills and ability to manage multiple priorities.

·      Excellent eye for detail and proven contract drafting skills.

·      Strong written and verbal communication skills.

·      Bilingual (French as mother tongue and fluent in English), Dutch language skills are a plus. Highly proficient in Microsoft Office Suite and Office 365.

·      Ability to work independently under time pressure.
