Experienced DevOps Engineer

Experienced DevOps Engineer As a DevOps engineer for RheumaFinder (), you will take ownership of the design, implementation, and continuous improvement of our deployment, infrastructure, and operational ecosystems — both in clinical environments and in the cloud. Your responsibilities will encompass building and maintaining secure, scalable, and automated infrastructure using AWS, Kubernetes, and modern DevOps tooling. You will oversee, automate, optimize our CI/CD pipelines, container orchestration, software deployments, monitoring, and logging systems. You will closely collaborate with our engineering and AI teams to ensure reliable, compliant, and high-performance development to production environments for our medical devices and AI applications. Operating within an ISO-compliant quality and regulatory framework, you will ensure robust documentation, configuration management, and operational excellence. In addition, you will manage system administration tasks, support hybrid on-premises and cloud setups, and help define best practices for security, observability, and infrastructure scalability across the company

You are expected to be at the office in Ghent at least 3 days per week, so it's a hybrid position with focus on the office. We do not offer relocation services or costs, nor VISA processes.

What is the company’s value proposition?

Rheumatism is a collective name for about two hundred acute and chronic disorders that affect our musculoskeletal system (muscles, tendons, joints) and the associated connective tissue. Rheumatic diseases are systemic diseases, in other words they can manifest themselves all over the body and affect organs such as blood vessels, kidneys, liver, lungs and heart. There is no age indication on rheumatic diseases. Babies and young children can also develop a rheumatic disease. RheumaFinder’s software is an advanced AI solution that will detect rheumatic lesions within medical imaging. As rheuma is a very prevalent disease (> 5% world population), our solutions will help to solve the problem of underdiagnosis (up to 50%) and delayed diagnosis (up to 10 years) in rheumatic diseases. If patients with these diseases would remain undiagnosed, progressive joint destruction occurs with subsequent symptoms (pain, limited mobility), decreased quality of life due to a lifelong disease burden and high societal costs. In summary, the value proposition is an AI-based automated early detection of signs of rheumatic diseases in medical imaging to support subsequent diagnosis, follow-up and patient therapy management.

What you actually will be doing

You will be a key contributor for the establishment and continuous improvement of the infrastructure and operational backbone of our AI-powered medical solutions. These systems are deployed both in the cloud and within hospitals and imaging centres worldwide, where reliability, security and regulatory compliance are critical. As a central member of our growing team, you will report directly to the CTO and collaborate closely with our Quality, AI Engineering and Medical Science teams to shape the final end-to-end solution. You love learning new things, sharing knowledge with teammates, and proactively taking ownership to drive projects to completion. You are excited about the impact of AI in healthcare and its potential to improve clinical outcomes. Your work will ensure our technology meets the highest standards of safety, accuracy, quality and regulatory compliance— helping us deliver robust, clinical-grade products.
