Will you be the newest addition to our team as Business Logistics Developer (Control Tower)?

Your tasks

DFDS Belgium is looking for a Business Logistics Developer to strengthen our control tower operations in Ghent. The role is central to ensuring stable, efficient and high-quality performance across our warehousing and transport activities for our control tower customers.

You will need a structured, hands-on approach, good operational understanding and the ability to work closely with warehouse, planning, customer service and transport teams.

In this position, you help manage the daily inbound and outbound flows, follow up on delivery performance and contribute to improvements in a time-critical environment. You will be involved in process control, quality checks, data analysis and supporting changes linked to new customers or operational updates.

A key part of the job is supporting daily control tower tasks such as inbound/outbound coordination, picking, packing and sequencing. You follow up & track deviations, find root causes and support corrective actions. Important KPIs include on-time delivery, warehouse accuracy, damage rates and sequencing performance.

You will analyse operational data to identify bottlenecks and improvement opportunities, help optimise warehouse flows and transport utilisation, and support the introduction of lean practices. You also assist with onboarding new flows and customers, updating procedures, and ensuring that warehouse and transport teams follow the right processes.

The role requires strong teamwork with warehouse supervisors, control tower, customer service and management. Clear and structured communication with customers is also important, especially regarding operational follow-up and improvements.

• You have a Bachelor/Master degree or equivalent experience, ideally with a background in logistics such as warehousing or transport.
• Can you communicate fluently and do you have a great deal of problem-solving ability?
• Are you precise and do you have strong analytical skills?
• Do you have the ability to work independently in a fast-paced environment and are you result-oriented and organized?
• A hands-on, pragmatic mindset and the ability to work close to the operation are important qualities.
• Are you a team player?
• You are flexible in terms of your working hours.
• You have experience in Logistics.
• Do you work well with a PC and have a good knowledge of MS Office?
• You have your own transportation to travel to the site?
• You have a very good knowledge English? Dutch is an advantage.
• You are willing to travel for work if required.
