Full Stack Engineer

This job is for a freelance full-stack developer working fully remotely in Brussels for about 140 days, with a chance to extend.

The main duties are:

• Building the parts of websites users see (front-end), like the layout and how users interact with it.
• Creating the behind-the-scenes parts of websites (back-end), including servers and databases.
• Helping with planning documents like business cases and security plans.
• Making sure different software systems can work together.
• Writing clean, functional code for both front-end and back-end.
• Fixing bugs and improving the software.
• Designing APIs (ways for software to talk to each other).
• Making web apps work well on different devices.
• Leading projects when needed.
• Writing technical documentation.

Skills needed:

• Good at front-end languages: JavaScript, HTML, CSS.
• Experience with JavaScript tools like Bootstrap and Angular 2+.
• Good with back-end tools like Java, Spring Boot, Hibernate.
• Knowledge of databases like Oracle and MongoDB.
• Ability to analyze and document software processes clearly.
• Experience working in agile teams and using version control like Git.
• Understanding of how to design software and services.

Soft skills:

• Comfortable working in a multicultural, international team.
• Able to speak, understand, and write English very well.
• Good team player with integrity and discretion, especially because the data handled is often personal and confidential.

Educational requirement: A bachelor’s degree (or equivalent) is needed.
