Overview
Alnylam is preparing to launch AMVUTTRA (vutrisiran) for ATTR-CM in BeNeLux, bringing a therapy with the potential to transform the lives of people living with ATTR amyloidosis and supporting Alnylam's evolution into a sustainable, R&D-driven, profitable biotech.

The Area Sales Lead BeNeLux will lead a team of Key Account Managers across Belgium, the Netherlands and Luxembourg, driving commercial execution, elevating field performance, and providing tailored coaching that unlocks each individual's capability. Beyond promotional activity, the role empowers the team to shape pathways and support high-quality care.

Success requires strong strategic and cross-functional capability as part of the BeNeLux Leadership Team. The role focuses the organisation on the highest-impact priorities, secures rapid and equitable access at hospital level, and works closely with Medical and Market Access to deliver initiatives that create genuine value for clinicians and patients. Operating leanly demands a mindset that looks past functional boundaries and tackles complex challenges with curiosity. The position also offers scope to build the leadership breadth needed for future progression.

The Area Sales Lead BeNeLux reports to the Country Manager BeNeLux.

Key Responsibilities

  • Lead, coach, and develop Key Account Managers to achieve national and individual targets, including revenue growth and market share.
  • Advise and support the team in complex sales situations, focusing on efficient tactics and stakeholder engagement. Secure broad and rapid hospital access, collaborating with Market Access.
  • Conduct field visits to strengthen customer relationships and strategic partnerships.
  • As a key member of the BeNeLux Leadership Team, collaborate with the Country Manager and cross-functional teams to define and execute operational strategy.
  • Ensure effective communication and alignment with Medical and Marketing.
  • Implement highly effective and prioritised account planning.
  • Drive field force effectiveness and implement incentive plans. Track and implement key performance indicators as set by the company and BeNeLux LT.
  • Plan and execute congresses and events with BeNeLux colleagues.
  • Identify development needs and support product/disease and skills training.
  • Ensure compliance with local regulatory and legal requirements.

Qualifications

  • University degree in a relevant field (health/business management or equivalent).
  • 10+ years' commercial experience in pharma/biotech, including 3+ years in Key Account Management Leadership in Belgium.
  • Certified to promote medicinal products to national code standards.
  • Proven leadership and team coaching skills.
  • Ability to access decision makers and build strong relationships.
  • Strong negotiation and communication skills.
  • Excellent cross-functional collaboration.
  • Business and financial acumen; proactive and goal-oriented.
  • Objective assessment of team performance.
  • Solution selling and strategic problem-solving abilities.
  • Fluent in Dutch, French, and English.
  • Willingness to travel up to 80%.
