The Opportunity
At Hitachi Energy, our purpose is advancing a sustainable energy future for all. We are looking for an experienced and strategically minded Head of Communications & Government Relations (CGR) to lead our activities across France and the Benelux region. This highly influential role sits at the intersection of business, policy, and society, shaping how our brand and strategic priorities are communicated to customers, policymakers, partners, and employees.
You will oversee the development and execution of integrated communications and public affairs strategies that strengthen our reputation, support business growth, and reinforce our leadership in the energy transition. Reporting to the Head of Communications & Government Relations Europe, you will work in close alignment with the Country Managing Directors for France and Benelux while leading a high-performing team of communications professionals. You will also collaborate closely with our global network, particularly in government relations.
This is a unique opportunity for a hands-on leader with sharp business acumen to influence key stakeholders, elevate our corporate visibility, and drive impactful engagement across a diverse and dynamic region.
How You'll Make an ImpactLead all communications and government relations activities across France, Belgium, the Netherlands, and Luxembourg.
Develop and execute strategies that enhance our brand reputation, strengthen market visibility, and support business objectives.
Build and maintain relationships with media, policymakers, industry bodies, and key customers to advance our influence.
Coordinate public affairs and advocacy efforts in cooperation with regional and global stakeholders.
Ensure consistent and compelling messaging across all channels, including digital platforms and executive communications.
Lead, mentor, and develop a skilled communications team, promoting collaboration and continuous improvement.
Support senior leadership with strategic counsel, executive positioning, thought leadership, and storytelling.
Oversee communication activities for events, digital engagement, and crisis management, ensuring compliance with legal and company policies.
Your Background
Minimum 15 years' experience in strategic communications, public affairs, or government relations in multinational environments.
Proven expertise in media engagement, internal and external communications, digital strategy, and crisis management.
Strong planning and organizational skills with the ability to manage multiple stakeholders and priorities.
Ability to tailor messaging for diverse audiences and markets, with strong digital and social media capabilities.
Demonstrated ability to link communication strategy to business results and organizational impact.
Experience working in France and the Benelux region; exposure to the energy or technology sector is an advantage.
Fluent in English and French; additional languages are an asset.
