Circle K Belgium is looking for a driven and innovative Environmental Engineer for the Benelux.

Your Role

As Environmental Engineer Benelux, you are responsible for the environmental management of our service stations in Belgium, the Netherlands, and Luxembourg (+/ You ensure that our sites comply with applicable environmental legislation and contribute to innovative sustainability projects. You work closely with internal and external partners and have a direct impact on our sustainability goals.

Your Responsibilities

• Monitor environmental permits and ensure compliance with laws and regulations.
• Advise and coordinate permit applications, safety studies, and environmental projects, both for new developments and for acquisitions and closures.
• Closely follow environmental legislation in Belgium, the Netherlands, and Luxembourg and ensure all stations comply with legal requirements and internal guidelines.
• Oversee soil studies and remediation works, from request for quotation to delivery, ensuring efficient and high-quality execution.
• Investigate and handle environmental incidents and spills, taking appropriate measures to limit damage.
• Manage remediation provisions.
• Assess environmental risks of our installations and develop action plans to minimize them.
• Represent Circle K in European projects and with authorities, promoting our interests and expertise.
• Collaborate with specialized engineering firms, environmental coordinators, and other internal and external partners.
• Ensure accurate and timely reporting to internal and external stakeholders.
• Apply your expertise to various projects (such as maintenance of water treatment installations, asbestos management plan, legionella control procedures, …).

Your Profile

• Master's degree in Engineering or Bio-engineering, with experience in soil studies and environmental management.
• At least 3 years of relevant work experience.
• Fluent in Dutch, French, and English.
• Strong analytical and problem-solving skills, combined with excellent communication and project management abilities to successfully coordinate complex environmental projects with diverse stakeholders.
• Independent, stress-resistant, and quality-focused, with an eye for compliance and innovation in a fast-changing environment.
• Ability to maintain relationships and balance interests between internal and external partners.
