Senior Scrum Master / Agile Coach – Financial Services (Belgium-Based)

Key Areas of Focus
- Consistency in Agile Practices:
- Ensure that all squads are following standardized Agile methodologies.
- Coaches the Squad to be self-organized and cross-functional
- Effective Communication and Collaboration:
- Facilitate the work of the squad, clear obstacles, help the squad to be more efficient, and protect the squad from outside interruptions and distractions.
- Foster open and transparent communication within and across squads.
- Utilize collaboration tools to enhance squad work and information sharing.
- Continuous Improvement:
- Encourage squads to regularly reflect on their processes and identify areas for improvement.
- Implement feedback loops to ensure that improvements are continuously integrated.
- Customer-Centric Approach:
- Prioritize customer needs and feedback in all our deliverables.
- Strive to exceed customer expectations through high-quality products and services.
The role:
- Provide overall guidance and coaching for the squad to adhere to Agile principles and practices.
- Guide the squad to efficiently deliver high-value products.
- Interact with people outside the squad to coach them in our methodology and clarify how they can best contribute to the delivery squad.
- Increase the efficiency of the squad through organizing/facilitating scrum events & decision-making processes (sprint and release planning, identification of tasks, sizing effort, progress reporting, demo, and retrospective), removing impediments (managing conflicting interests, negotiating inputs between different parties, proactively identifying issues and risks, and adjusting scope, etc.) while aligning with the other scrum masters in the tribe.
- Facilitate squad transparency and share progress using the appropriate communication channels.
- Work with stakeholders and squad members to continuously improve quality and productivity.
- Collect and analyze squad KPIs (velocity, etc.).
- Ensures that Risk and IT Controls related gaps are documented and agreed on remediation actions with Product Owner.
- Ensures escalation is done on non-compliant IT Controls as well as reporting on resolution action plans
- Ensure that deliverables follow guidelines and standards (e.g., documentation).
- Share impediments and corrective actions with the Scrum Master CoP (Community of Practice) when relevant
- Actively participate in the tribe SM community

Additional responsibilities:
- Being involved into the project delivery, involving in resource planning, resource allocation, and Quarterly planning activities.
- Ensure effective resource management to meet project goals and timelines.
- Coordinate with various squads to allocate resources efficiently.
- Plan and oversee Quarterly planning events to ensure high standards of delivery.
Qualifications
- 3+ years of proven Scrum Master or Agile coaching experience (preferably in a large organization)
- You have good knowledge of agile delivery methods as well as the waterfall approach, and able to adapt to a “meet half-way approach”
- You are experienced in leading squads with end-to-end delivery of several projects in parallel with different size
- The scope of work you have managed includes development of associated business processes, procedures, controls and critical metrics
- You have demonstrated through your career strong leadership skills with the ability to adapt your style according to the context and the different project partners
- You have proven experience working on planning, guiding squads in budget estimations
- Outstanding communication, facilitation, negotiation, and coaching skills
- Knowledge to coach and facilitate the squad at different levels and events: refinement, story splitting, estimation, velocity, predictability, retrospectives and other Scrum techniques
- Planning and problem-solving skills with product management and delivery squads
- Demonstrated experience facilitating meetings at multiple levels of an organization and an understanding of facilitation techniques
- The ability to operate in a changing environment and to participate to the change
- Knowledge of tools like Azure DevOps and ServiceNow is a plus
