Senior Financial Controller


Fluxys is an international energy infrastructure group with 1,300 employees active in gas transmission & storage and liquefied natural gas terminalling.

For the controlling Belgium department, we're looking for a senior financial controller (m/f/x).

  Job purpose

The Financial Controller ensures accurate financial planning, reporting, and analysis to support strategic decision-making and regulatory compliance. This role manages budgeting and forecasting processes, and maintains robust financial data structures. By fostering cross-functional collaboration and driving continuous improvement in reporting and control systems, the Financial Controller contributes to the financial integrity and operational efficiency of Fluxys Belgium Group, including its regulated and energy transition activities.

   Your responsibilities
  • As a Financial Controller, you manage the budgeting and forecasting process: plan timelines, coordinate stakeholders, centralize, consolidate and process budgetary data, and produce P&L and balance sheet
  • You draft the quarterly KPI report: analyze the performance of Fluxys Belgium Group's key activities (transport, storage, energy transition) to support strategic decision-making
  • You maintain strong relationship with stakeholders across departments to promote best practices and ensure effective cross-functional control
  • You contribute to the preparation of semi-annual and annual financial reporting and support the annual reporting to the CREG, other regulators and EU taxonomy reporting
  • You manage the cost allocation processes in collaboration with the Regulatory team, especially for growing number of regulated activities (CO₂, H₂, etc.) at federal and regional levels
  • You conduct in-depth financial analyses on complex and strategic topics
  • You maintain financial data structures within SAP, BPC, and BW
  • You drive continuous improvement in reporting, control, and planning processes – including the rollout of new reporting tools
  About you
  • You have a master's degree in Finance, Economics, or equivalent through experience
  • You have minimum 5 years of experience in a similar role
  • You have strong analytical mindset with a sharp eye for accuracy and consistency
  • You have a deep understanding of budgeting, financial reporting, and accounting principles
  • You are business-oriented: you seek to add value through insights and recommendations
  • You act as a persuasive and reliable interlocutor, able to communicate actionable financial insights with clarity and confidence across all levels of the organization
  • You are proficient in SAP (FI/CO), Excel (macros), and SAP BPC and are familiar with Power BI and large data sets
  • You are comfortable navigating complex systems and managing multiple priorities
  • You are fluent in French or Dutch, with good command of the other language and English
