We specialize in arranging wholesale insurance products and services through Lloyd's and The London Market, covering a wide range of risks including accident and health, property, liability, professional indemnity, motor, yacht, and fine art.

We are seeking an experienced and highly organised Senior Finance Administrator to take ownership of financial operations and support strategic decision-making within a well-established insurance brokerage in the heart of Brussels, with a recognised branch in London.
This is a key position within a dynamic team of nine (3 in Belgium and 6 in UK), offering the opportunity to play a pivotal role in maintaining robust financial control and supporting the continued growth of the business. Immediate start – full-time.

The day to day:
 

Payments & Cash Management

  • Supervise and review the processing of premium receipts and payments to insurers and clients.
  • Oversee accurate input of transactions into financial systems and maintenance of the cash book.
  • Ensure timely allocation of receipts and effective management of cash flows.

Reconciliation & Ledger Oversight

  • Take responsibility for complex client and broker account reconciliations.
  • Oversee and review bank reconciliations, ensuring accuracy and timely completion.
  • Investigate and resolve discrepancies promptly.

Financial Documentation & Compliance

  • Ensure that all accounting documents, Slips/Cover Notes, and lapsed files are accurately digitised and stored in the Document Management System in line with internal policies and regulatory standards.
  • Maintain a clear audit trail for all financial transactions.
Invoice & Expense Management
  • Oversee the verification and processing of supplier invoices, ensuring accuracy and proper authorisation.
  • Support the implementation of efficient workflows for accounts payable processes.
Monitoring, Reporting & Analysis
  • Monitor financial KPIs related to credit control, cash flow, and reconciliations.
  • Prepare and present periodic financial reports to senior management.
  • Provide insights and recommendations to improve financial controls and operational efficiency.
Month-End & Year-End Processes
  • Lead month-end and year-end closing activities, including reconciliations, journals, and reporting.
  • Collaborate with the Finance Manager and Divisional Director on financial statements, audits, and regulatory filings.
Credit Control & Receivables Management
  • Lead and manage the credit control process to ensure timely collection of premiums.
  • Build and maintain strong relationships with clients to resolve outstanding balances.
  • Oversee the monitoring of credit terms and prepare regular reports for Directors on overdue accounts.
  • Ensure accurate and up-to-date maintenance of credit control records and premium files.

What we're look​ing for:
 

This is a role requiring a strong background in financial administration, ideally within the insurance or financial services sector. We are looking into a person with following key competencies or skills:

  • Languages: fluent Dutch/French and ideally fluent/very good English, a good level in Italian would be a plus 
  • Experience: minimum 3 years in a finance administration or accounting role, with at least 1 year at a senior level
  • Technical skills: excellent numerical ability, advanced level of Excel
  • Organisational skills: Very good time management, attention to details
  • Positive attitude and ability to work well in a team
  • Bachelor's degree in accounting, finance
