The Category Buyer is responsible for sourcing, negotiating, and managing contracts for a specific category of goods or services. This position requires a strong understanding of the construction industry and the ability to work independently and as part of a team. Experience in the construction/Offshore industry is required.
The primary responsibilities of the Category Buyer include:
- Sourcing and negotiating contracts with suppliers
- Managing the procurement process from start to finish
- Monitoring supplier performance and ensuring compliance with contracts
- Working with other members of the procurement team to develop and implement procurement strategies
Your profile:
- Solid commercial training or solid technical training with appropriate commercial background knowledge Ideally, initial experience in purchasing or a comparable function
- Good basic technical understanding in the context of purchasing activities
- Good English knowledge Experienced use of common PC programs (e.g. MS Office, SAP)
- Entrepreneurial thinking, sense of responsibility, ability to work in a team, negotiating skills and initiative
