Banking Operations Officer


Our client in the banking sector is looking for a Banking Operations Officer to ensure the accurate and timely processing of FX transactions, payments, standing orders, and account closures. This is a fully back-office operational role requiring precision, reliability, and strong adherence to procedures.


Key Responsibilities

  • Execute and book FX buy/sell orders 🌐 — verify rates, amounts, value dates, and balances.
  • Validate international transfers ✈️ — ensure correct beneficiary details, amounts, fees; handle exceptions.
  • Process domestic/SEPA payments 💶 and internal transfers.
  • Manage standing orders 🔁 — create, modify, cancel, and resolve failed orders.
  • Process account closures 🚪 and transfer remaining balances, ensuring all instructions are updated.
  • Perform daily operational checks 📝, correct rejected/returned payments, and escalate complex cases.
  • Support continuous process improvement ⚙️ by identifying issues and proposing enhancements.


✅ Required Competencies

  • 2–3 years’ experience in a banking operational or back-office environment.
  • Solid knowledge of administrative processes and compliance requirements.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office tools (Excel, Outlook, Word).
  • Fluent in French; additional languages are a plus.
  • Experience in administrative, data-entry, or back-office roles is an advantage.
  • High attention to detail and strong numerical accuracy.
  • Comfortable with repetitive tasks and working with multiple IT systems.
  • Reliable, structured, and able to follow defined procedures consistently.
  • Team player with a proactive approach to identifying and flagging issues or exceptions.
